Elizabeth Ann West is a jane-of-all-trades, freelance writer, military wife, and stay at home Mom. Before reaching this pinnacle level of her career, she majored in Political Science at Christopher Newport University.
Her work experience reflects her goal in life to always seek that next adventure. Elizabeth worked for the Walt Disney Company for a summer as a citizen of Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom, and financed her last two years of college with temporary office work. Her assignments varied from government contract work on an army base, supporting the architecture firm on site building a wastewater treatment plant, fighting the flurry of end of the month paperwork at a real estate office during the height of the seller's market, and many others. Upon graduating college, Elizabeth landed a full-time position with Alcoa as a Quality Technician in a metal casting facility.
Upon leaving the workforce to support her family and husband's military career, Elizabeth began volunteer work for the Navy and most recently her church. During a cross-country change of homeport while her husband's submarine was deployed, Elizabeth was the Ombudsman, or advocate for family members and advisor to the boat's Captain. Talk about a crash course in logistics, as a quarter of the families were staying in Norfolk, half were moving to San Diego, and another quarter were joining the boat throughout the deployment from all over the country. On top of the moving, there were still the typical deployment issues on her plate as well such as family emergencies, and holding educational sessions for family members with Fleet and Family Support.
Elizabeth's writing career is more passion than paycheck, and she is a stepmom to a wonderful 9 year old young man and mom to an active 10 month old.
